When I was 15 years old, I first began training Muay Thai. It was then that I met coach Bob Peach of Beacon MMA (formerly Daddis MMA), and began training under him and a few of the other coaches. For the next 5 years I continued training there, which would lay the foundation for what I teach today as a coach, myself.

I've also worked with Coach Anthony Williams in collaboration with my YouTube channel, FIGHTTIPS, who is an excellent striking coach.

I can tell you first hand that the instruction and attention that you will get at Beacon MMA is world-class. The instructors are as passionate, patient, and professional as they come. You can expect a warm welcome to the gym, as they are accommodating to all levels of experience.

I’ve lost over 100 lbs. thanks to Beacon MMA! It wasn’t and ISN’T easy, but it’s fun!

I spend anywhere from 1 hour to upwards of 3 hours a day taking back-to-back classes with a community of coaches and athletes who give me constant support.

I’m never bored, and the coaches are great about making things I’ve learned already feel fresh. I can’t imagine a better place to smash my goals!

I’ve known Bob [Peach] and a majority of his staff for years now, and they always impress me with their level of professionalism. This place has everything you would need for any age at any level. I highly recommend coming in for a free class because you will be hooked.

We have watched our son transform...

We live in Philadelphia and make the drive across the bridge and into another state because Beacon MMA is simply the best.

Beacon MMA was literally the only academy that answered the phone in a professional manner (or answered the phone at all), and we called around to every academy we could find online.

Coach Kirby demands a lot out of the kids, but gives them the tools to succeed. We have watched our son transform into a more confident and outgoing young man, and we can’t wait to see what the future has in store for him with Beacon MMA.

...the instruction is phenomenal.

I signed my son up for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu at Beacon MMA after trying another local area gym for a month. The other gym was a great place and the coach was knowledgeable, but the training area was very small. Beacon MMA could fit the other gym 3 times over on their mats alone, and the instruction is phenomenal.

The Boxing and Muay Thai is literally the best in the area, lightyears ahead of anywhere else I looked. So much so, that I wound up signing up myself. The only negative I could think of was having to find another gym when we moved to Florida. There are a lot of decent Boxing, BJJ, and Muay Thai gyms in the area, but none under the same roof. We definitely miss our Beacon MMA family and continue to train there whenever we're visiting family in the area.

CrossFit

…it’s never a struggle to find motivation here.
— Robert Best

It’s always a struggle finding the motivation to get out of bed for morning classes, or head straight to the gym after work, but it’s never a struggle to find motivation here. I know it’s a cliché, but the group of men and women I train with are a family. We help each other find our personal best, and push each other to go beyond what we thought was possible. That type of communal support just doesn’t exist at regular gyms.

My entire family trains here for a reason.

My entire family trains here for a reason! My husband has a lot of friends who take Jiu-Jitsu at different academies, and whenever they come to visit, they are always impressed with our coaches and level of instruction.

I do CrossFit, usually while my husband and the kids are on the mats doing their thing. My kids have fun and are surrounded by other children who are striving toward a positive goal, and I think that’s important for them to be around. Not to mention, Coach Kirby is great with kids and an outstanding role model for them. The kids look forward to class, holiday parties, team camping trips in the summer... it really has become a huge part of our lives.

The left is me today on my 42nd birthday. The right is about 20 pounds ago from my birthday last year. I don’t think I would have willingly posed for a picture in a bikini last year. Between intermittent fasting and putting in work at Beacon Mixed Martial Arts and Fitness, I’d say the last year has been good for me.

The coaches have gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable...

Beacon has changed my life. Since starting my journey there I have gained more knowledge, strength and confidence than I could have ever imagined.

New endeavors can be frightening, especially for someone as shy as I am. The community of athletes and coaches welcomed me in with open arms and the facility quickly became a second home.

The coaches have gone above and beyond to make me feel comfortable while also knowing how and when to challenge me to grow. It is evident that they truly get to know and care about each and every client. Coach Kirby believed in me since day one and (most importantly) helped me to believe in myself.
