The following are our most Frequently Asked Questions. As they say, there is no such thing as a stupid question. If you don’t see a question here that you would like answered, please feel free to give us a call at (856)870-8028, fill out the form below, or reach out via social media, and one of our coaches will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q: What should I look for in a gym?

A: A clean, safe training environment and a knowledgeable staff, who is able to articulate their knowledge in a professional manner.

Q: Do I need to have experience?
A:
Absolutely not! Borrow from our coaches’ 120+ years of collective experience to build a lasting foundation in authentic, practical, and effective martial arts.

Q: Should I lose weight or get in shape first?
A:
No. Losing weight and getting in shape is difficult enough, let our professional coaching staff help you!

Q: What should I bring for my free consultation and introductory class?
A: Wear clothes you feel comfortable moving around in, bring your state-issues ID card, an open mind, and the willingness to work hard. We’ll take care of the rest!

Q: Can I get hurt?
A:
Safety is our number one concern! However, as with any physical activity, injury is always possible. To help mitigate this risk, all of our training surfaces are matted with Zebra Mats to reduce the most common injury, which occurs due to falling. The other major factor in creating a safe training environment is creating a culture that encourages everyone to care for each other's well-being. Our staff works tirelessly to create such a culture to maintain a training environment that is not only safe, but conducive to learning.
Always consult your physician before starting an exercise program.

Q: Can this make my child a bully?
A:
Principally, a training philosophy and culture like ours cannot create bullies. We recognize that the prospect of your child learning "how to fight" sounds scary. But keep in mind, our Kids Jiu-Jitsu program is centered on self-defense. Unlike a traditional martial arts program like Karate and Tae Kwon Do, your child will not learn how to kick or punch. That means it can never be an option for them.

Q: Can I bring a friend?
A:
Training with a friend is always more fun. For your free consultation and introductory class, we ask that you come alone, so that one of our consultants can focus on your individual needs.

Q: Where are you located?
A:
Beacon MMA is conveniently located in Cherry Hill, NJ, not far from the intersection of Route 70 and Interstate Highway 295, both major arteries in South Jersey. Many of our students come from neighboring towns like Audubon, Camden, Collingswood, Delran, Haddonfield, Haddon Heights, Maple Shade, Marlton, Medford, Mount Laurel, Pennsauken, Philadelphia, and more!

Q: Are there any discounts available?
A:
We periodically offer special pricing on all of our programs throughout the year. Follow us on Facebook or Instagram to see our latest special offer! We also offer discounted rates for families and the men and women who serve in law enforcement, the fire department, and the armed forces.

Q: Do you offer private lessons?
A:
Yes. Private lessons are a great way to learn at your own pace. Rates vary from coach to coach. Please contact us for more details.
